They work in different ways

An implant is placed in the jaw to support a crown, bridge, or denture. A conventional removable denture replaces missing teeth without implant placement. Implants and dentures are not always competing options: some dentures attach to implants.

What affects the choice?

Your dentist considers your health, gums, bone, remaining teeth, and goals. Implant treatment involves surgery and healing and is not suitable for every person. Smoking and some health conditions can affect healing and treatment success.

Compare the complete plans

Ask about the treatment sequence, temporary teeth, maintenance, and total estimate. Implant treatment can take months and may need preparatory procedures. Ask whether a bridge, removable denture, or implant-supported restoration fits your circumstances.

Long-term care matters

Replacement teeth still need care. Keep follow-up visits and ask for a demonstration of cleaning around your restoration. Contact your dentist if an implant feels loose or painful. We offer implants and dentures in Annapolis and can help you compare suitable options.
